[petsc-dev] hdf5.py needing libz hardwired?

   In BuildSystem/packages/hdf5.py it depends on libz but just checks that at the same time as checking the hdf5 libraries. Shouldn't hdf5.py depend on libz.py and then libz.py does a clean check for libz and tells the user the proper fix it if does not find it. For example listing the Linux package commands for getting it if not installed? Current code requires PETSc developer to tell the user what to do each time.

   Can someone fix this?
