Thanks for the tip. This parameter isn't available to the mpiexec on my 
machine - maybe I am missing something.

In in the mpich2-1.4.1 directory, I've run:
$ ./configure
$ make

Would I expect to find an mpiexec somewhere, e.g. in bin/ ?
$ find . -name mpiexec
./examples/mpiexec


Or do I need to pass parameters to ./configure to have the mpiexec 
binary made ?
