[mpich-discuss] A differnt question on Linux

I assume under the Linux binaries for Red Hat/Fedora/CentOS that are available, the lead digit,

1.xxx
2.xxx
3.xxx and so forth specify the gross level, so a 4.xxx would be a RH4, and el is the "Enterprise" version, and "fc" stands for "Fedora/CentOS".  Am I correct in these assumptions?
