After a cron job runs tonight, you can grab a tarball based on 1.2.1p1 that shouldn't have this problem from here:
http://www.mcs.anl.gov/research/projects/mpich2/downloads/tarballs/nightly/1.2.1/
You'll want to pick a revision >=r7073 to get the fix.
