The usual cause of this is a mismatched mpicc and mpirun. If "which mpicc"
and "which mpirun" return the correct ones, then I don't know what is
happening here.
Also, if there is no particular reason you need to use MPICH-1, we recommend
switching to MPICH2. It is more robust and it is where all our development
effort is going.
