Following very successful previous editions held in different venues since 2002, the 21st IEEE ISPDC conference will be hosted by the University of Basel in the city of Basel, Switzerland. The IEEE ISPDC 2022 conference aims at presenting original and unpublished research that will target state-of-the-art as well as emerging topics pertaining to the field of Parallel and Distributed Computing paradigms and applications. Parallel and Distributed Computing is an important research area today and has a strong contribution to the advancements in science, engineering, and society at large. Its evolution is characterised by the continuous development of new approaches in the modeling, design, analysis, evaluation, and programming of parallel and distributed computing applications and systems.

The goal of the 21st IEEE International Symposium on Parallel and Distributed Computing (ISPDC 2022) is to bring together researchers, engineers, and practitioners for the purpose of sharing their experiences in the development of new algorithms, applications, architectures for parallel and distributed computing, as well as modeling and simulation, visualisation, and data analytics.

We cordially invite you to submit your contribution to the 21st IEEE ISPDC conference, considering our mission to bring together researchers, engineers, and practitioners involved in the development of new algorithms and architectures for parallel and distributed computing, as well as visualization and post-processing. We consider the following area of interests, but not limited to:

- Architectures and Environments for Parallel/Distributed Computing and Mobile Computing
- Parallel and Distributed Computing – Algorithms and Models for Applications
- Performance Modeling, Management, and Optimization
- Parallel and Distributed Computing for Large Scale Applications
- Parallel and Distributed Embedded Computing for Critical Systems
- Cloud and Edge Computing
- Security and Privacy in Distributed Systems
- Blockchains and Distributed Ledgers
- Connectivity and Interactivity

PAPER SUBMISSION
--------------------------------------------------

IEEE ISPDC 2022 welcomes two main types of contributions, original research and oral communications.

ORIGINAL RESEARCH CONTRIBUTIONS

We solicit two types of original research contributions: full papers and short / work in progress papers, which should be indicated in the paper title by [Full] or [Short]. All accepted papers (full and short) will be published in the conference proceedings (IEEE).
Manuscripts must be submitted by the submission deadline; full paper manuscripts may not exceed eight (8) and short paper manuscripts may not exceed five (5) single-spaced double-column pages using 10-point size font on 8.5x11 inch pages (IEEE conference style), including figures, tables, and references. The submitted manuscripts should include author names and affiliations.

Files should be submitted by following the instructions above. All submissions are handled through the EasyChair platform https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=ispdc2022.

Accepted papers will be part of the ISPDC 2022 conference proceedings (Conference Record #55340) which will be submitted for inclusion into IEEE Xplore (subject to meeting IEEE Xplore’s scope and quality requirements) and are traditionally indexed by Web of Science and Scopus. To be published in the ISPDC 2022 Conference Proceedings and to be eligible for publication in IEEE Xplore, an author of an accepted paper is required to register for the conference at the full rate and the paper must be presented by an author of that paper at the conference.

ORAL COMMUNICATION CONTRIBUTIONS

Oral communications will be presented at the conference, but will not appear in the proceedings. This type of contribution includes but is not limited to previously published work, position papers, results from R&D projects. There is no strict page limit for this kind of submission but submissions of 1-4 pages would be appreciated. In the case of previously published work, an abstract and publication information suffices for consideration. You may submit oral communication contributions directly to ispdc2022 at maillist.unibas.ch with the title: “Oral communication”.

CALL FOR SPONSORSHIP
--------------------------------------------------

On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the ISPDC 2022, we invite your sponsorship of the conference. As a sponsor of this conference, you will enjoy the opportunities to closely interact with the worldwide researchers in academia and industry and the top-notch postgraduate students and practitioners in the field. Your participation will increase your visibility in the community and industry. It will also provide you with an unrivalled opportunity to network with key players and to demonstrate your innovative services and products. Your financial support will ensure that the costs of the conference remain accessible for students, and will improve the quality of the conference experience for all attendees worldwide.

We offer three levels of sponsorship. We also welcome any customized sponsorship proposals to best suit your needs. If you have any creative or interactive ideas of activity, we would be interested to talk to you about how we can incorporate them into a personalized package.

We welcome you to get in touch with us (ispdc2022 at maillist.unibas.ch) for any questions or suggestions for the conference and the engagement of attendees with the sponsors. Thank you very much in advance for your attention and your support!
