The PhD Colloquium of ACM SIGSIM PADS is a central event for our conference. It will take place in the afternoon of June 4th. Details of the event can be found at:

The deadline to submit an abstract is March 15th. The abstract is submitted by email at giabba at furman.edu based on the instructions in the URL above. We welcome abstracts about already published work, but the abstract needs to indicate it.

In short, the colloquium will include multiple opportunities to support the research and career needs of doctoral students. Events will include:
- traditional poster presentations as well as oral presentations. As the colloquium takes place in the middle of the conference, and is not in competition with other events at this time, doctoral students will be easily able to network with experienced researchers in the field.
- a panel on careers for doctoral students. Panelists will discuss several options and share their experiences in roles including faculty at research universities and liberal arts colleges, or scientists in national laboratories.
- round tables with journal editors, so students can discuss the process, or identify possible venues for their work.

Students attending the PhD Colloquium will receive a complementary one-year membership to ACM SIGSIM. Students needing a travel grant to cover the registration fee, travel, and/or lodging are encouraged to apply to the student travel grant.
