Call for Papers
---------------
We have a great pleasure to invite you to participate in the ARMS-CC 2016, Workshop on Adaptive Resource Management and Scheduling for Cloud Computing, held in conjunction with PODC 2016, Chicago, Illinois, July 29th, 2016.

Welcome
-------
Following the success of last years editions of ARMS-CC held in Donostia-San Sebastián (2015) and Paris (2014), the third edition of ARMS-CC workshop aims at providing a venue for researchers, engineers, and practitioners involved in the development of new resource management methods, scheduling algorithms, and middleware tools for Cloud Computing. The goal is to provide an interactive and friendly yet professional forum for original research contributions describing novel ideas, groundbreaking results or quantified system experiences, in the context of PODC Symposium. The work presented in ARMS-CC workshop can report and summarise on previous work, present early new results or put forward new and outrageous ideas.

We cordially invite you to submit your contribution to the Workshop on Adaptive Resource Management and Scheduling for Cloud Computing (ARMS-CC 2016).

The scope of the workshop includes, but is not limited to:

Foundational Models for Resource Management in Cloud
Distributed Scheduling Algorithms
Load-Balancing and Co-Allocation
Dynamic, Adaptive and Machine Learning based Distributed Algorithms
Self-* and Autonomic Cloud Systems
Cloud Composition, Federation, Bridging, and Bursting
Cloud Resource Virtualization and Composition
Fault Tolerance, Reliability, Availability of Cloud Systems
Cloud Workload Profiling and Deployment Control
Cloud Quality Management and Service Level Agreement (SLA)
High Performance Cloud Computing
Many-Task Computing
Mobile Cloud Computing
Green Cloud Computing
Cloud Computing Platforms for Big Data
Resource Management in Big Data Platforms
Scheduling Algorithms for Big Data Processing
Resource Management for different Applications: Smart-Cities, e-Health, Cyber-Physical Systems, etc.
Simulation and Performance Evaluation
ARMS-CC workshop would be of interest to the PODC community because it highlights the consideration of self-* improvements, which is explicitly focused on resource utilization and combines local and global enforcement solutions, supports the estimation of resources needed, scalability, mobility, reliability, and fault tolerance.

Paper Submission and Publication
--------------------------------
The full paper in PDF format will be submitted via EasyChair system: https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=armscc2016. Papers are to be submitted electronically, following the guidelines available on the PODC conference web page. Authors unable to submit electronically should contact the program chairs to receive instructions.

ARMS-CC Workshop at PODC-16 will have a separate proceedings, which will be published in ACM Digital library. Submissions should not exceed 6 pages in length (in ACM format).

Formatting a full paper, the author is requested to strictly conform to the template provided by ACM. The detailed author’s instruction and the related template files to be used with the most popular Document Composition tools (LaTeX, Microsoft Word), are available at the following URL: http://www.acm.org/publications/article-templates/proceedings-template.html. The final paper MUST be formatted according to the above instructions.

The program committee, potentially assisted by outside referees in limited cases, will do reviewing of full papers. We will assign in the first step three reviewers for a submission and, if we not have a clear decision we will designate an advocate. The evaluation will be based on originality, scientific significance, technical soundness, and clarity of presentation. Accepted papers will be shepherded through an editorial review process by a member of the program committee.

Accepted submissions will be treated as confidential prior to publication. A special issue for extended papers and submission rules will be announced before the workshop. Rejected submissions will be permanently treated as confidential.

By submitting a paper, the authors agree that at least one of them will attend the workshop to present it. This is the strong condition for a submission to be considered for publication in the special issue.

Registration
------------
The registration for ARMS-CC will follow PODC registration rules.

Best regards,
Florin Pop and Radu Prodan
