Beijing is China's political, cultural, science and education centre
as well as a key transportation hub with direct flights to most major
cities in the world. Beijing has served as the capital of the country
for more than 800 years. The city has many places of historic interest
and scenic beauty. Beijing became the focus of world attention in 2008
