[AG-TECH] AG Demo for University of Utah, College of Humanities.

Here at Utah, our campus network is multicast enabled although
individual buildings, or departments may not be. In this case the
College of Humanities is not yet ready to initiate multicast through out
their college. I hope soon. Unicast works very well as long as the
necessary ports are open at the firewall. I also had to edit the
VenueClient.py file to increase the number (from 10 to 25) of bridges to
be listed in order to get access to particular bridges. The biggest
problem with unicast is when you have a large number of sites using the
same bridge. Sometimes the bridge server cannot handle the load.

Having said this, you can use unicast to get your site running but I
would work with your network staff to make sure multicast works. They
actually have to initiate a testing policy for when they make upgrades
and changes to the network. Many time they forget about multicast.

I hope this is helpful.

Jimmy,

This is actually related to the demo, but I noticed you are using
Unicast for this inauguration. Have you noticed major issues in Unicast?

I'm asking because we're unable to get Multicast to work from our campus
(yes our admins insist that Multicast should work). I'm wondering if
Multicast is absolutely necessary of it there are work arounds.

Thanks for your time.
