That also reminds me - we once had an older edge switch, L2/L3, which did IGMP snooping. Did a great job at unicast (100Mb/s - line rate across all ports), but couldn't sustain high multicast rates (30Mb/s max, from memory). It also seemed to pulse in performance, just to really confuse things. Discovered it when I borrowed the switch for something else and stuck in a dumb hub, and the hub dramatically outperformed it! :-)
