[AG-TECH] What's New in IDL 6.0 Mtg. 6/23/03

To Whom It May Concern,

In cooperation with RSI, the vendor who produces IDL, the NERSC
Visualization Group is providing a lecture via the Access Grid
entitled, "What's New in IDL 6.0".  IDL is used for data analysis and
visualization. This new version is a major release of the software
with many new features. There are significant changes from the current
version , 5.6, which is available on Escher, the NERSC Visualization
Server as well as Seaborg. We are also working with the vendor to have
either a beta or final release version of IDL 6.0 installed on both
Escher and Seaborg for your use before the lecture.  Time will be
provided for Q&A with the vendor's technical representatives.
Participation is open to all who are interested.
