[AG-TECH] AGN Computer Specs

I've been following the specs questions and can empathize with Don. I got
bids from both SAG and a local builder (handy because they are close and are one
of our "prime vendors" so ordering is easy).

I went with the local builder just because it was easy to have them install
all the cards at their site and test them. That worked pretty well (they had to
track down some things ahead of time). If I had it to do over I'd even have
them install the right linux version on those two boxes even though I'd rewrite
it later. At least that way I'd have some assurance the box had to be
configured right for linux, etc.

I assume someone answered whoever asked that you want the AGP slot so you can
plug in the Matrox G400 there for better graphics performance (I think most are
at least "4x" agp now, whatever that means).

Anyway, the units we got seem to be working ok but I'm sure everyone agrees
that as/if the Access Grid moves into more of a production environment
procurement/configuration/installation of the PCs will be a key issue.

   Marty
