This estimate is mostly because Hypre gives you almost no choices about
smoothers. You can get some information by increasing -pc_ml_PrintLevel. The
hierarchy itself is managed by PETSc, so you can control all aspects of
smoothers on levels, etc., -ksp_view will show you the whole hierarchy.
