Hi Aleks,

Thanks for the tip.  Unfortunately, fixing the handedness did not make the
free-slip case work for me.  When you were simulating an annular cylinder,
did you ever have the SYM BC's on both the sides and the ends?

I think I've determined that neither the Pn/Pn-2 method nor the stress
formulation is the problem with my 3D annular cylinder.  I conclude this
because the simulation runs properly with IFSTRS=T when the sides are SYM
and ends are W, or when the sides are W and the ends are SYM.  It is only
when both sides and ends are SYM that the simulation doesn't work.  Any
thoughts?
