Results! Other that match-ups and scores, any semblance to real
events is purely coincidental.

We played Holdin' Our Own.

John C played Karle in a 2:2 to open the night. John won the first
game after much scratching by both. Karle came back to win the second
game and got to the 8 first in the final game, but a long carom on the
cueball sent it to a pocket for a scratch on the 8, giving the game
and match to John, his first win of the season.

Martino played next against Jenny in a 2:4. Jenny came out shooting
well, taking the first 2 games. Martino rallied to win the 3rd, but
Jenny won the next game, taking the match to hill-hill. The final
game started out close. Jenny pulled ahead towards the end to get the
8 first, but missed, gaving Martino ball-in-hand in the process. He
put it to good use, running out his remaining balls and sinking the 8
to win the match, 2:3.

John V played next against Josh in a 4:1. I was shooting pretty well
while Josh struggled to make shots. That translated to 4:0 shutout.

Roger played the fourth match against Jim, a 2:2. Roger was making
good shots in the 1st game and had the lead on Jim, but lost after
inadvertently kicking the 8 into a pocket on a shot. Unfortunately,
Jim picked up his game in the next and got to the 8 first, taking down
Roger 0:2.

Paul H played a 3:4 final match against Andrew. Paul had Andrew
against the ropes in the 1st game, but somehow Andrew escaped and took
the game. Andrew took the next 2 before Paul was able to win the 4th
game by making a nice 5-ball run plus the 8. In the next game,
though, Paul only got 1 turn at the table, as Andrew ran out all his
balls and the 8 in his first turn at the table, taking the game and
match 1:4.

So we won 3, lost 2 matches for the night; pretty good!
