Release to-do item

Hello, all.

An item that I think we should add to our software roll-out to-do list: 
  In addition to the current F77 versions of example programs, we should 
also have F2003 versions of these (not least because we need to be sure 
that we can link to an F2003 executable...).

Interestingly, it looks like F2003 has solved nearly (?) all the 
C-Fortran interoperability issues --- pass-by-value, pointers, enums. 
Not sure about strings...

If we're going to go ahead with this, we'll need a "volunteer" who knows 
more Fortran than I remember.  Harold?  Jason?  Tim?  Some other brave soul?
