Ok. I committed a number of things to trunk, one of which is a fix for
the messed up channel lookup problem.

I used it previously for auto-deployed services on ranger and pads, but
haven't tried it with the stand-alone service. So please test that if
you can and let me know.

I'll now move to dealing with 0.93 issues.
