   The issue is here

configure:31815: /Users/danyangsu/Soft/PETSc/petsc-3.20.5/macos-gnu-opt/bin/mpif90 -o conftest -I. -ffree-line-length-none -ffree-line-length-0 -Wno-lto-type-mismatch -g -O -fallow-argument-mismatch conftest.f90 -ldl -lm >&5
ld: warning: -commons use_dylibs is no longer supported, using error treatment instead
ld: common symbol '_mpifcmb5_' from '/private/var/folders/jm/wcm4mv8s3v1gqz383tcf_4c00000gp/T/ccqBB7yf.o' conflicts with definition from dylib '_mpifcmb5_' from '/Users/danyangsu/Soft/PETSc/petsc-3.20.5/macos-gnu-opt/lib/libmpifort.12.dylib'

Perhaps someone has the fix.
