What happens if you add ${DLIB} to the end of the line
> executable: $(SOURCES) chkopts
> -${FLINKER} $(FFLAGS) $(FPPFLAGS) $(CPPFLAGS) -o executable.out $(SOURCES) ${PETSC_LIB}
Send all the output from trying this.
