Why not?

All libraries can be installed at the same time:

/usr/lib64/openmpi/lib/libpetsc.so.3.7.2
/usr/lib64/libpetsc.so.3.7.2
/usr/lib64/mpich/lib/libpetsc.so.3.7.2
/usr/lib64/libpetsc64.so.3.7.2
