Which compilers do you want to use? gnu or MS? [or will either work for you?]

Also - any perticular reason for using petsc-3.3 instead of petsc-3.5?

Also - to make sure cygwin is not causing these problems - I'll recommend:

1. reboot
2. do not start any cygwin processes
3. run cygwin setup.exe - and click 'next' - all the way to completion. [it will
run some scripts to rebase the installed packages at the end]

And then try rebuilding with gnu compilers  - and resend the log for this build.
