[petsc-users] trouble installing petsc 3.1-p8 on centos 4.8

Hi,

Thanks so much for this explanation.  Right now our Uintah software doesn't 
support the petsc 3.2  due to some slight api changes that have been made, so 
we are using an older version of petsc.  

Hopefully, Edward will be able to get petsc built with your suggestions.
