Hello All,

I stumbled across this article (and trust me I REALLY had to dig) looking for an esoteric part of the sacred texts (i.e. user documentation), and think it may be pertinent.

https://www.olcf.ornl.gov/2020/01/02/new-year-brings-new-directory-structure-for-olcfs-high-performance-storage-system/ <https://www.olcf.ornl.gov/2020/01/02/new-year-brings-new-directory-structure-for-olcfs-high-performance-storage-system/>

Mainly about changes to HPSS which I don’t think many of us use, however there are a few lines about changes to /home/$USER, implying that the proposed changes may be system-wide? In particular:

"Users with data currently stored in their personal directories (at /home/$USER) will be encouraged to start transferring it to the correct project areas; Griffith said the HPSS team expects the data migration to be fully completed in 12 to 18 months.”

"Meanwhile, the HPSS team will rename the current /proj/PROJECTID directories to /hpss/prod/PROJECTID/proj-shared, then add a link to that area."

Best regards,

Jacob Faibussowitsch
