The timewarp that is NASA is using PETSc from before Maria was born.

PETSc Team:
I am trying to compile and link the NASA DPLR code (a Fortran CFD code)
with PETSc v3.2.7 on the SGI ICE XA at HPC’s ARL center. I downloaded
and compiled v3.2.7 with no problems. At link time, I get a lot of
undefined references to X routines, e.g. XDrawLine called from several
different PETSc routines. I don’t want to use any X routines and I
don’t think X is even installed on this machine.
How do I configure or tell PETSc to not invoke these X routines. I
just want numerics, no drawing/plotting/windowing etc. Thanks!

What most experimenters take for granted before they begin their
experiments is infinitely more interesting than any results to which their
experiments lead.
