[petsc-dev] Calls to DMCreateFieldIS missing from fieldsplit.c

Can anyone explain to me what's going on with DMCreateFieldIS()?  It
appears that it isn't really being used.
My impression was that calls to it were added to PCFieldSplitSetDefaults()
in

Recent versions don't have this code at all, and I have a hard time
figuring out when these lines were deleted (and why?).
Did they get blown away during this revert?
