config.guess failure with IBM/XL

I'm building PNetCDF using the IBM/XL compilers for the Power architecture.
I got this error message:

    *checking build system type... ./scripts/config.guess: unable to
    guess system type*

    This script, last modified 2011-10-01, has failed to recognize
    the operating system you are using. It is advised that you
    download the most up to date version of the config scripts from

I got the build to work by using newer copies of the config.guess & 
config.sub.
The versions bundled in the latest PNetCDF (1.8.1) look pretty old 
(2011), can you update them in the next release?
