Robert.

Can you provide more details on how to setup through wmpiconfig.exe and wmpiregister.exe?

Here is what I did:

1. I ran wmpiregister.exe first to provide user account name and password

2. Click register, then OK

3. Open wmpiconfig.exe, saw the host

4. Not sure what to set, so decided to use all defaults.

5. Click apply all

6. Open wmpiexec.exe

7. Loa d the application cpi.exe, use 1 processor

8. Click the execute

9. Saw the following message:
Error: No smpd passphrase specified through the registry or .smpd file, exiting.

What I have missed?

Thanks,
Bruce

Hi,

I am new to MPICH2. I have installed the software as administer, then I try to run the example. Here is what I did:

1. %smpd -start

2. %mpiexec -n 2 cpi.exe

Each time when I use only one processor, every think worked. But as long as I use more than one processor, after entering pass phrase, it will be stuck in there forever. Then, I have to kill the job. Can someone tell me if I have missed any setup steps? I am running on a multicore laptop with windows 7 operating system.

Many thanks.
Bruce Xu
