Hi,
Make sure that you can ping from one computer to the other (i.e., TCP/IP routing tables are setup correctly) before proceeding with running your MPI job across the machines. Look at the microsoft website for information on how to setup a local intranet (eg: For Windows XP : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/813936).
Meanwhile, what do you mean by "two computers would work as one in processing and memory power" (If you install MPICH2 and write scalable, efficient MPI programs, the programs should be able to use the processing power and memory of both the machines) ?
Regards,
Jayesh

Subject: Re: [mpich-discuss] question
If I instal ethernet cards into the two computers run an ethernet
cable between the two, instal the MPICH2 software on both computers,
and then create a direct connection network between the two, using
control panel(having one computer the host and the other the guest),
then the two computers would work as one in processing and memory
power?
Thanks again,
Bernie
