[mpich-discuss] mpd error

Hello,

I am trying to install mpich2 on a 3 node cluster of quadcore processors with centos5.4 x64 version. I am getting error messages when I issue the mpd & command on the first node (head node). I have provided the path in the bash_profile file and do not get any error messages when I go through the list of commands provided in the install help file in pdf format. The error messages are as below;

[root at node01 ~]# mpd &
[1] 4046
[root at node01 ~]# node01_37116 (mpd_sockpair 240): connect -3 Temporary failure in name resolution
node01_37116 (mpd_sockpair 247): connect error with -3 Temporary failure in name resolution
mpd &
[2] 4048
[root at node01 ~]# An mpd is already running with console at /tmp/mpd2.console_root on node01. 
Start mpd with the -n option for a second mpd on same host.

[2]+  Exit 255                mpd
[root at node01 ~]# mpdallexit
[root at node01 ~]#

Please let me know if any additional info. is needed.
