The install directory that you specify in the --prefix option to
configure must be different from the directory where you are compiling
the source.
Separately, I would recommend using MPICH2 instead of MPICH 1.2.7, which
is very old.

Subject: [mpich-discuss] problem on mpich
Dear all
I am new to linux, here I met a problem when I compile mpich-1.2.7 on
FC10.
My system environment is:
gcc version 4.4.1 (GCC)
pgf90 7.0-5 64-bit target on x86-64 Linux
The problem is
if [ "" = "" ] ; then \
./bin/mpiinstall ; \
else \
./bin/mpiinstall -prefix= ; \
fi
cp: `/home/jy/espresso/mpich-1.2.7p1/bin/tarch' and
`/home/jy/espresso/mpich-1.2.7p1/bin/tarch' are the same file
**Error copying file /home/jy/espresso/mpich-1.2.7p1/bin/tarch to
/home/jy/espresso/mpich-1.2.7p1/bin/tarch **
make: *** [install] Error 1
I met this problem when I type in make install. What's wrong with it?
Thank you in advance.
