[mpich-discuss] I can not control the number of processes on a multicore machine

You need to use:

% mpdboot -f mpd.hosts -n 2 --ncpus=4

Or you can use Hydra (this does not require mpdboot at all):

% mpiexec.hydra -f mpd.hosts -n 8 vasp
