[mpich-discuss] MPICH2, Linux, router, hostname

I would like to create a ring between 2 systems running Linux:
-one has static global IP and it's hostname is hostname.domain , and
-the other is mypc, has static local IP, dynamic global IP (i'm using a router), it also has a hostname which is mypc.otherdomain
I run the troubleshooting test in InstallGuide and the results are fine until the 'mpdcheck -f mpd.hosts -v' test run on hostname.domain. It says:
checking gethostbyXXX for qualified mypc.otherdomain
*** gethostbyname_ex failed for hostglobal_IP.ISP
I can connect from one host to another with SSH ; no error is reported when i run the same test frommypc.otherdomain.
Another problem is that my router sees my box name as @IP120 rather than box_name.
I modified /etc/hosts so that a new line contains: local_ip box_name mypc.otherdomain @IP120 ; but still the same test error
Are there any other changes to be done in /etc/hosts ?
Where should i look for this issue ?
