[MPICH] smpd error message on windows - Do you have sufficient privileges ?

Hi,
 MPICH2 uses this (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\mpich\smpd\process\) registry
entry to store information (like the full path of the executable) pertaining
to an MPI process created by the PM/smpd.
Check to see if you have sufficient privileges (to access registry entries)
on the machine where you are executing your MPI job.
Since your program is executing correctly, the error could be during the
cleanup of the registry entries. Please look into the process registry
entries on the machine and let us know if it is clean.

1. Run "regedit.exe"
2. Check the values in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MPICH\SMPD\process --
This should be clean (no entries) if there are no MPI processes running on
the system. (Also right-click on the process entry and you will know more
about the permissions allocated for the entry)

Regards,
Jayesh

Subject: [MPICH] smpd error message on windows

Hi,

I saw the following error message when running our MPICH APP on windows.

"unable to open the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\mpich\smpd\process\3884
registry error 5 acces denied."

While I don't believe that our APP is affected by the error
message(everything seems to be OK and we get the results we want),
I would like to make sure that nothing is going wrong. Does anyone have any
idea what that error message means and what its
implications are ?

Thanks

Richard
