[MPICH] Confused about compiling/using mpich2

The 'killed by signal 9' message means that the process manager killed
that process. This typically happens when one of the other processes
died or exited without calling MPI_Finalize. When this happens, the
process manager assumes that the process aborted and kills the rest of
the job.
So I would start by figuring out why the other process may be dying
(also make sure you're calling MPI_Finalize).
