[MPICH] configuting mpich2-1.0.5p2 problems to be used with Totalview 8.0.2-0 later

Hello

I appreciate any help I can get on this issue. I am trying to install the
mpich2-1.0.5p2 because Totalview people told me  they have problems running
on previous versions.

I am using the configure command as:

$./configure -prefix=/pathxx/mpich2-install --enable-mpe
--enable-debuginfo --enable-g=dbg,mem,log --enable-threads=multiple
--with-thread-package=pthreads --enable-sharedlibs=gcc | & tee
configure.log

and was advised by Rajeev, to igoner the defaults and use only:

$./configure -prefix=/pathxx/mpich2-install --enable-debuginfo
--enable-g=dbg,mem,log --enable-sharedlibs=gcc | & tee configure.log

both gave me errors: here is what I get early on the configure.log file:

 failed for src/misc
 configure: error: Configure of src/mpe2 failed!
