That means you are not using MPICH2. It is likely your machines have
LAM/MPI pre-installed.  You can type the full path to any mpich2
tools to avoid invoking non-MPICH2 utilities or put
<mpich2-install-dir>/bin in your PATH before any LAM/MPI tools.
