[MPICH] Contradictory mail message

The first line of the error message looks like it is from some other MPI
implementation. Can you make sure you are using all header files (mpi.h,
mpif.h), libraries, and mpiexec from the same MPI implementation.

The last error in this series of error messages is contradictory.  Do you
know what would cause it to be returned?

Invalid rank, error stack:

MPI_Recv(179): MPI_Recv(buf=0x0088F108, count=1, MPI_INT, src=0, tag=-1,
comm=0x84000001, status=0x0088F118) failed

MPI_Recv(104): Invalid rank has value 0 but must be nonnegative and less
than 0
