[MPICH] mpd startup

Hi all,
  i am trying to develop startup script which will start mpd daemon on
each of cluster node from head node of cluster through rsh/ssh ...
  when i did "rsh node2 $home_MPD/bin/mpd & " , it wait and does not
give prompt for further execution . But when i execute the same command
"$home_MPD/bin/mpd &" on local machine , it gives prompt  ...
   is there any solution to this ...

   If i am not clear in mentioning the problem , please let me know ...
