[MPICH] hmm... mpich2 woes :O

I don't think the directory matters as long as the executable exists in your
Unix path. What was the exact error message the mpdboot printed. You may
want to look at Appendix A of the Installers Guide for MPD troubleshooting
tips (doc/installguide/install.pdf).
