- We developed a specific definition for neighboring part:
"Given an entity type E, Part A and Part B are neighbors if they share at
least one entity of type E."
I will add the entity type argument to the appropriate functions.
- We discussed the EntitySet questions at length. No one was excited about
adding an entire set of functions that duplicate entity set functions but
with an additional part handle argument. However, alternatives might be
burdensome to the application. To give us a better sense of what the
application would need to do without new functions, Mark Miller agreed to
write some pseudo-code showing how an application would get the following
information given the currently understood partition interface functions:
Given a mesh instance, a partition instance, a part handle for part A and an
entity set handle for entity set B, return all entities in Part A that are
in entity set B.
Mark also volunteered to eventually write pseudo-code for the entire
interface. Onkar and Tim have parts of the pseudo-code already written;
that would just need revision based on more recent discussion.
- We agreed to meet again on Thurs, Dec. 13, at 9am PST.
