Dear Colleagues,
It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 1st Workshop on Data Reduction & Energy-Aware Data Movement (DREAM).
The workshop will take place in conjunction with Supercomputing Asia/HPC Asia 2026 in Osaka, Japan, on January 29th, 2026.
DREAM is a half-day workshop focused on recent developments and research in AI-driven and data-intensive workloads. As data is produced, processed, and consumed at unprecedented scale, energy demand has emerged as a primary limiting factor, an issue further exacerbated by the rapid growth of AI workloads. This workshop aims to bring together researchers and practitioners from the AI, HPC, and energy communities to address challenges in modeling, profiling, and optimizing data flows for both performance and sustainability.
DREAM 2026 will include the following highlights:
* Keynote talk: Michaela Taufer (University of Delaware)
* Invited Talk: Kento Sato (RIKEN)
* Paper presentation
-- Fine-Tuned Sentence-BERT for HPC Job Outcome Prediction via Textual Feature Embedding
-- Sustainable Power Reduction for DRAM applying Adaptive Stream-based Entropy Coding focusing on Video Processing System
-- Exploring I/O Performance and Power Consumption Trade-offs in Production Environments
-- A Co-Simulation Framework for Building Energy Management as a Testbed for Energy-Aware Data Movement Analysis
-- Quantifying the Energy Cost of Performance Inefficiency in HPC Applications
