The SAMOS XXV Conference invites proposals for Special Sessions to be 
held during the conference from June 28 to July 3, 2025, on the 
inspiring island of Samos, Greece. Special Sessions provide a unique 
opportunity to explore emerging topics, foster interdisciplinary 
discussions, and showcase innovative research in the field of embedded 
systems and related areas.
*
Scope of Special Sessions:* Special Sessions at SAMOS XXV should align 
with the conference’s overarching themes. Proposals should focus on 
cutting-edge topics that complement the main conference tracks and 
encourage collaboration prominently featured in the conference program 
and proceedings.

*Proposal Submission:* Interested organizers should submit a one-page 
proposal via email to the SAMOS XXV Special-Session Chair at 
c.strydis at erasmusmc.nlby March 15, 2025, that includes:
     - Title and Topic Description: A concise title and a description of 
the session’s objectives, relevance, and novelty.
     - Organizers: Names, affiliations, and contact information of the 
session organizers, including a short bio for each.

Chairs of accepted special sessions will be notified accordingly. The

     - Each Special Session should include a minimum of three accepted 
papers.
     - Session organizers are responsible for promoting their session 
and soliciting submissions.
     - Submitted papers will undergo the same rigorous peer-review

acceleration solutions tailored for embedded applications in fields such 
as automotive, space, avionics, medical, edge computing, and (machine) 
learning systems. Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):

     - Novel architectures and microarchitectures for high-performance, 
real-time, energy-efficient,  and dependable (e.g., fault-tolerant, 
secure) embedded systems;
     - Application-specific and domain-specific processing engines and 
accelerators;
     - Heterogeneous and homogeneous multicore and multi-chiplet systems;
     - Reconfigurable and adaptive systems;
     - Runtime management of embedded systems;
     - Advanced memory systems and data management techniques;
     - In- and near-memory processing;
     - Networks-on-Chip.

*Modeling, Design, and Design Space Exploration:*
This track covers a broad range of design methodologies and tools for 
embedded systems. Topics of interest include modeling and simulation, 
hardware/software and system synthesis, compilation techniques, 
performance, power, and reliability analysis, as well as design 
methodologies and design-space exploration strategies. Topics of 
interest include (but are not limited to):

     - Co-design of hardware/software and algorithm/architecture;
     - Methodologies, algorithms, and CAD tools for design space 
exploration;
     - Modeling and simulation at the system and component levels;
     - Synthesis techniques for hardware, software, and system-level design;

Authors of selected papers will be invited to submit an extended version 
of their work to contribute to a special issue of the International 
Journal of Parallel Programming (IJPP). This issue will accept papers 
from all the topics of the SAMOS conference.

* *TRAVEL GRANTS*
The conference will award 10 travel grants to authors and participants, 
who are students from Greece, Cyprus, Italy, Portugal, and Spain and, in 
general, to people without support from their organization.
