The ACM Student Research Competition (SRC) in High Performance Computing will once again be hosted at PASC26, taking place June 29–July 1, 2026, in Bern, Switzerland.

This prestigious prize recognises outstanding research contributions by undergraduate and graduate students across all areas of computer science. Winners from PASC26 will receive cash prizes and advance to the ACM Grand Finals, where they will compete for recognition as the top student researchers in computer science for the year. Poster submissions should describe topical research in HPC related to domain science, applied mathematics, computer science and/or software engineering.

Now entering its third year at PASC, the SRC aims to broaden participation globally at undergraduate and graduate levels. To facilitate this, SIGHPC is generously providing travel grants, and PASC will waive registration fees for finalists. These measures are intended to ensure that all qualified students can participate, regardless of location or circumstance. To further support entrants, students can request individualised mentoring prior to the conference, focused on strengthening their abstracts, posters and presentation skills.

SUBMISSION DEADLINES AND COMPETITION FORMAT

The first stage of the competition consists of submitting a two-page abstract describing new and original research. Based on these submissions, selected finalists will be invited to present their work on-site at PASC26. Separate tracks for undergraduate and graduate students ensure that early-stage researchers are evaluated among peers at comparable levels of experience.

Abstract Deadline: 31 January 2026
