Call for Workshop Proposals

Deadline:   June 25th, 2024 (AoE)

Submit via email to:carsten.trinitis at tum.de

corrado.desio at polito.it

Notification: July 25th, 2024

Following the successful tradition of previous editions, FPL 2024
(2‐6 September 2024) will host several workshops on 2nd  and  3rd
September 2024. We are soliciting proposals for new and recurring
workshops to be organized within FPL 2024, as they provide excel‐
lent  opportunities to bring together researchers and practition‐
ers from different communities to share their experiences  in  an
interactive  atmosphere  and  to foster collaboration for new and
innovative projects. We invite you to submit  a  workshop  within
(but  not  limited to) the following topics related to Field‐Pro‐
grammable Logic and Applications:

     Architectures and Technology
     Application Acceleration
     Programming Models and Languages
     System Software and Environment Support
     Design Methods and Tools
     Safety‐Critical Applications
     High‐Performance Computing
     High Integrity Computing Architectures

before the deadline of June 25th, 2024.

Workshop proposals will be assessed and reviewed  quickly,  on  a
First‐Come‐First‐Serve  basis,  to  allow for enough time and re‐
sources for the workshop organizers to attract high‐quality  sub‐
missions.  Therefore,  early  submissions â until June 25th â are
encouraged, and you will get the go/no‐go notification within, at
most, two weeks from the submission.

We  strongly  encourage  workshops  that  focus on innovative and
original ideas related to the core topics of FPL. Organizers  can
choose between invited presentations (to be listed at the time of
submission), an open call for papers, or a combination  of  both.
Any other forms of interaction with the audience â panels, demos,
posters â are welcome, as we see workshops as a means of  provid‐
ing as many dynamic forms of engaging the audience as possible.

For  workshops that include an open call for papers, we point out
that the organizers are responsible for setting  up  the  submis‐
sion, review, and camera‐ready management processes. The organiz‐
ers must also indicate their expectations for the  workshop  (pa‐
pers submitted, papers accepted).

Workshop  organizers are free to arrange the publication of their
workshop papers independently. FPL 2024 does not provide workshop
proceedings  but  will  consider including the workshop papers on
the website if the workshop organizers can  provide  their  final
papers in time.

Workshop Proposal Submission Requirements

To  submit  a  workshop proposal, we ask to prepare a PDF file (2
pages max, excluding biographies and references), containing  the
following information:

     Title of the workshop.
A description of topics and specific issues that the workshop
will address, how the workshop complements FPL 2024, and why  the
workshop topic is relevant.
The  expected  workshop  format (regular‐paper presentations,
poster presentations, invited talks, panel discussions, demo ses‐
sions, or other ideas to promote active exchange of ideas).
List of organizers, including their short biographies, affil‐
iation, and their expertise in the proposed topic(s).
     (preliminary) Program committee, if applicable.
In case the workshop has been previously held, provide infor‐
mation  to  show that the previous edition(s) were successful re‐
garding paper submissions and attendance.
Length of the workshop (half‐day/full‐day) and  the  expected
number of participants.
Follow‐up  plans  (if  any) to disseminate the ideas from the
workshop, for example, through position papers or special  issues
in the journal.

Please send your proposals by email to both the FPL 2024 Workshop
and Tutorial Co‐Chairs with the subject: âFPL2024  Workshop  pro‐
posalâ.  A  confirmation email for receiving your proposal should
be sent within 48 hours;  otherwise,  please  contact  us  again.
