Description
----------------------------------
The SRC provides students with opportunities to gain visibility, make connections, sharpen communication skills, and receive feedback from experts in their research areas. The competition involves three rounds: abstract submission, poster presentation, and finalist presentation. In the first round, students submit an extended abstract describing their research problem, background, approach, results, and contributions. A committee of experts reviews the abstracts and selects finalists based on the quality of the content. The second round is the poster session held during SC24. Selected students present their research through posters and interact with conference attendees and judges. The judges evaluate the posters based on criteria such as oral and visual presentation, research methods, and significance of contribution.

In the third and final round, a subset of students is chosen to give a 10-minute presentation followed by a Q&A session before a panel of judges. The judges assess the students' knowledge, research contribution, and presentation skills. Three winners are selected in each category (undergraduate and graduate), receiving cash prizes of $500, $300, and $200 for first, second, and third place, respectively. The first-place winners advance to the SRC Grand Finals, an online competition among winners from various ACM conferences.
