Greetings,
We will be hosting a workshop on "Terahertz Communications, Sensing and Security" during MILCOM 2024 in Washington DC from Oct 28 - Nov 1: https://urldefense.us/v3/__https://milcom2024.ieee-milcom.org/__;!!G_uCfscf7eWS!YRivI3H6BO0_GRPGcMvW9VINpn4nlN4OkqBhXLf-ZBDdRWoyh-gIAoHePOAYXc9Pz2qLQ-DlqTHfCTij33gqmmcX$
Prospective authors are invited to submit high-quality, original technical papers to the workshop. Please note that the papers submitted to this workshop are subject to a peer review process.
The Call for Papers can be found at the end of this email. Please feel free to share this with your colleagues working in the field. We will shortly provide you with a link for the submission.
Best regards,
Priyangshu Sen, Arjun Singh and Josep Jornet
Call For Papers:
In the last decade, the field of sub-terahertz (0.1-0.3 THz) and terahertz (0.3-10 THz) band communication and sensing has drastically evolved. This technology has become a crucial element not only to address the needs of the forthcoming generation of communication systems, i.e., 6G and beyond, but also to provide unparalleled possibilities in developing physically secure networks. The properties of terahertz radiation (frequency, wavelength, and photon energy) have the potential to revolutionize defense communication and sensing applications. These include the ability to establish secure, high-speed data links to transmit critical information in remote and high-stress locations, all while providing unprecedented radar capabilities to detect and classify targets. However, efficient terahertz wireless requires overcoming several challenges, which include the development of compact, high-power, and energy-efficient transceivers and dynamic antenna systems; propagation and channel modeling in the near and far fields, and on the ground, in the air and in space; advanced waveform and wavefront designs, and implementing reliable MAC and network layer solutions.
The IEEE International Workshop on Terahertz Communications, Sensing, and Security will be held in conjunction with the IEEE Military Communications Conference (MILCOM) in Washington, DC, USA, on October 28, 2024. This interdisciplinary workshop invites researchers from various fields, including terahertz materials, devices, and packaging, as well as communication, signal processing, networking, sensing and security. We seek original unpublished work that is not under review in another venus. The areas of interest include, among others:
· Terahertz transceiver design
· Terahertz antennas, antenna arrays, reflect-arrays and metasurfaces
· Terahertz propagation characterization, channel modeling,
· Ultra-directional beamforming and wavefront design
· Ultra-broadband modulation and waveform design
· Terahertz networking protocols: medium access control, relaying, routing, end-to-end reliability
· Interference, spectrum sharing, and coexistence above 100 GHz
· Non-terrestrial terahertz networks
· Terahertz sensing: radar, localization, imaging, and spectroscopy
· Joint terahertz communication and sensing techniques
· Physical layer security, jamming, and eavesdropping
· Secure network architectures
· Experimental platforms for terahertz communications, sensing and security applications
Important Dates:
· Paper Submission: 12 August 2024
· Acceptance Notification: 09 September 2024
· Camera-Ready: 07 October 2024
Submission Guidelines:
All paper submissions should be written in English with draft papers up to six (6) printed pages in length, two-column, single-spaced with 10-point font on US Letter paper. Final papers that exceed six (6) pages will be assessed a per-page over-length charge of US$150/page, up to a maximum of eight (8) total pages. Standard IEEE Transactions template for Microsoft Word and LaTeX formats can be found at:
