CALL FOR WORKSHOP PROPOSALS
Important dates
-
Workshop proposal submission deadline: December 15, 2024
-
Workshop acceptance notification: December 20, 2024
-
Workshop Dates: June 23 and June 27, 2025
Aims and Scope
The 11th IEEE International Conference on Network Softwarization (NetSoft
2025) will be held in Budapest, Hungary, from 23 to 27 of June, 2025. IEEE
NetSoft has been created as a flagship conference aimed at addressing the
softwarization of networks and the convergence of Cloud Computing,
Software-Defined Networking (SDN), and Network Functions Virtualization
(NFV). The overall theme of NetSoft 2025 is “Sustainable and secure
networks for distributed AI and compute”.
IEEE NetSoft invites proposals for full-day or half-day workshops. The
purpose of the workshops is to complement the conference program with
in-depth discussions that are dedicated to emerging topics on Network
Softwarization such as network cloudification and edge computing, Open RAN
and RAN intelligence, Time-Sensitive Networks, AI-assisted network
automation, AI-native networks, data-plane programmability, etc. Proposals
from both industry and academia are welcome. Accepted and presented
workshop papers will be published in the conference proceedings and will be
submitted for inclusion in IEEE Xplore.
Submission Guidelines
Each NetSoft 2025 workshop proposal must be submitted in a single PDF file
and must include:
1.
Name and abbreviation of the workshop.
2.
Names, email addresses, affiliations, and short bio of the main
organizers.
3.
A brief description (1 page) of the technical focus addressed by the
workshop, reasons why the workshop is timely and relevant to NetSoft 2025
and its main theme.
4.
Likely contributors and targeted audience.
5.
Publicity and advertising plan to attract paper submissions and
attendees.
6.
A description of past events of the workshop, including statistics of
submitted/accepted papers and attendee numbers (if not the 1st offering of
the workshop).
7.
A draft one-page CFP including title, scope, topics and important dates
Workshop paper submission: March 14, 2025
Workshop paper notification of acceptance: April 11, 2025
Camera-ready submission: May 2, 2025
Workshops date: Monday, June 23 or Friday, June 27, 2025
Other logistics: half-day or full day workshop and an indication whether
there is a preference for Monday, June 23 or Friday, June 27.
The workshop papers are expected to be 6 pages in IEEE 2-column format,
including references. The workshop may also allow short papers with a page
limit of 4 pages, including references.
The approved workshops are expected to attract enough original and quality
submissions to schedule a half or full day workshop. Otherwise, the IEEE
NetSoft 2025 Organizing Committee may decide to cancel a workshop or merge
it with another one. Workshop organizers are discouraged from submitting
papers to their own workshop, unless they receive explicit approval from
the Organizing Committee.
Please submit workshop proposals via email with the subject line “IEEE
NETSOFT 2025 WORKSHOP PROPOSAL”, to the workshop program co-chairs:
-
Andreas Johnsson: andreas.a.johnsson at ericsson.com
-
Sándor Laki: lakis at inf.elte.hu
-
Laurent Ciavaglia: laurent.ciavaglia at nokia.com
