[We apologize if you receive multiple copies of this CFP]

The 22nd IEEE* International Symposium on Parallel and Distributed
Computing (ISPDC 2023)
July 10-12, 2023, Bucharest, Romania

Submissions are open for original research papers (long and short) and
oral communications: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=ispdc2023

Nowadays applications generate enormous datasets that are continuously
increasing exponentially in both complexity and volume, making their
analysis, archival, and sharing one of the grand challenges of modern
big data analytics. Supported by the rise of artificial intelligence
and deep learning, such enormous datasets are becoming valuable
resources even beyond their original scope, opening new opportunities
to learn patterns and extract new knowledge at large scale,
potentially without human intervention. However, this leads to an
increasing complexity of the workflows that combine traditional HPC
simulations with big data analytics and AI applications. In a quest to
keep up with the complexity of the workflows, the design and operation
of the infrastructures capable of running them efficiently at scale
has evolved accordingly. Ideas pioneered by cloud and edge computing
(aspects related to elasticity, multi-tenancy, geo-distributed
processing, stream computing) are also beginning to be adopted in the
HPC ecosystem (containerized workflows, on-demand jobs to complement
batch jobs, streaming of experimental data from instruments directly
to supercomputers, etc.). Thus, modern scientific applications need to
be integrated into an entire Compute Continuum from the edge all the
way to supercomputers and large data-centers using flexible
infrastructures and middlewares. This year’s edition of ISPDC makes a
highlight on the efficient support for processing across such a
Computing Continuum.

Following very successful previous editions held in different venues
since 2002, the 22nd IEEE ISPDC conference will be hosted by the
University Politehnica of Bucharest, Romania. The IEEE ISPDC 2023
conference aims at presenting original and unpublished research that
will target state-of-the-art as well as emerging topics pertaining to
the field of Parallel and Distributed Computing paradigms and
applications. Parallel and Distributed Computing is an important
research area today and has a strong contribution to the advancements
in science, engineering, and society at large. Its evolution is
characterized by the continuous development of new approaches in the
modeling, design, analysis, evaluation, and programming of parallel
and distributed computing applications and systems.

The goal of the 22nd IEEE International Symposium on Parallel and
Distributed Computing (ISPDC 2023) is to bring together researchers,
engineers, and practitioners for the purpose of sharing their
experiences in the development of new algorithms, applications,
architectures for parallel and distributed computing, as well as
modeling and simulation, visualization, and data analytics.

We cordially invite you to submit your contribution to the 22nd IEEE
ISPDC conference, considering our mission to bring together
researchers, engineers, and practitioners involved in the development
of new algorithms and architectures for parallel and distributed
computing, as well as visualization and post-processing. We consider
the following area of interests, but not limited to:

*Efficient Support for the Computing Continuum (combining HPC, Cloud
and Edge Computing)
*Algorithms and Models for Large Scale Applications
*Architectures and Environments for Parallel and Distributed Computing
*Performance Modeling, Analysis and Evaluation for Parallel and
Distributed Systems
*Security and Privacy in Parallel and Distributed Systems
*Blockchain and Distributed Ledgers
*Mobile and Embedded Computing

PAPER SUBMISSION
--------------------------------------------------
IEEE ISPDC 2023 welcomes two main types of contributions, original
research and oral communications.

ORIGINAL RESEARCH CONTRIBUTIONS

We solicit two types of original research contributions: full papers
and short / work in progress papers, which should be indicated in the
paper title by [Full] or [Short]. All accepted papers (full and short)
will be published in the conference proceedings (IEEE).
Manuscripts must be submitted by the submission deadline; full paper
manuscripts may not exceed eight (8) and short paper manuscripts may
not exceed five (5) single-spaced double-column pages using 10-point
size font on 8.5x11 inch pages (IEEE conference style), including
figures, tables, and references. The submitted manuscripts should
include author names and affiliations.

Files should be submitted by following the instructions above. All
submissions are handled through the EasyChair platform
https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=ispdc2023.

Accepted papers will be part of the ISPDC 2023 conference proceedings
which will be submitted for inclusion into IEEE Xplore (subject to
meeting IEEE Xplore’s scope and quality requirements) and are
traditionally indexed by Web of Science and Scopus. To be published in
the ISPDC 2023 Conference Proceedings and to be eligible for
publication in IEEE Xplore, an author of an accepted paper is required
to register for the conference at the full rate and the paper must be
presented by an author of that paper at the conference.

ORAL COMMUNICATION CONTRIBUTIONS

Oral communications will be presented at the conference, but will not
appear in the proceedings. This type of contribution includes but is
not limited to previously published work, position papers, results
from R&D projects. There is no strict page limit for this kind of
submission but submissions of 1-4 pages would be appreciated. In the
case of previously published work, an abstract and publication
information suffices for consideration. You may submit oral
communication contributions directly to XXX with the title: “Oral
communication”.
