IWOCL & SYCLcon 2023 marks the 11th anniversary of the annual gathering of the international community of developers, researchers, suppliers, and Khronos Working Group members to share best practice, and to advance the use and evolution of the OpenCL and SYCL standards for programming heterogeneous platforms.
This pioneering workshop has been attracting an international audience of leading academic and industrial experts since 2013 and is the premier forum for the community to present, discuss and learn about applying OpenCL and SYCL to solve computationally demanding problems across a wide range of application domains.
Invitation
----------------------------------------
You are cordially invited to contribute and participate in this virtual workshop through a paper, technical talk, tutorial, or poster. The workshop will also include invited presentations by experts from academia and industry, plus a range of panel discussions and community suggested BoFs. Papers and posters will be included in the proceedings published in the ACM Digital Library.
Topics of Interest
----------------------------------------
Topics for 2023 include (but are not limited to):
+ High-performance computing on mobile devices
+ Scientific and high-performance computing (HPC) applications
+ Machine Learning Training and Inferencing
+ The use of high-level compute APIs such as SYCL in safety-critical applications
+ Development tools, including debuggers and profilers and reference implementations
+ HPC frameworks and supporting libraries developed on top of OpenCL, SYCL, Vulkan or other parallel C++ paradigms.
+ The use of OpenCL and SYCL on CPU, GPU, DSP, NNP, FPGA and hardware accelerators for mobile, embedded, cloud, edge and automotive platforms
Important Dates
----------------------------------------
+ Deadline for all submission types: Friday January 20, 2023
+ Author notifications: Monday February 20, 2023

Submission Types and Author Guidelines
-----------------------------------------
The workshop welcomes the following four types of submissions, all of which will undergo peer review by at least three members of the Program Committee comprising world-leaders in OpenCL and SYCL.
1. Research Papers
2. Technical Presentations
3. Tutorials & Special Sessions
4. Posters
All presenters must register for the workshop at the prevailing rate to present the material and to have their submission included in the published proceedings.
1. Full Academic Papers
-----------------------------------------
We solicit the submission of full-length unpublished academic/technical papers detailing original research related to OpenCL, SYCL and related topics. Please submit full papers for review, which should be no longer than 12 pages using the ACM SIG proceedings style. Links to the LaTeX and Word templates are available on the website. Papers will be included in the proceedings published in the ACM Digital Library.
2. Technical Presentations / Talks
-----------------------------------------
These submissions require a 500-1,000 word abstract. Additional supporting materials may be submitted as a single pdf document. The final presentation slides are required to be provided to the organisers according to the submission deadlines above. All technical presentations will be published on the IWOCL/SYCLcon website.
3. Tutorials & Special Sessions
-----------------------------------------
The agenda includes a day of tutorials and Special Sessions (BoF, Panels, etc.) that provide developers an opportunity to spend more time exploring a specific OpenCL or SYCL related topic. Session leaders are asked to submit a 500-1000 word abstract and include the preferred length of the session (in minutes). Additional supporting materials may be submitted as a single pdf document.
4. Posters
-----------------------------------------
To encourage discussion of the latest developments in the OpenCL and SYCL community, a poster session runs in parallel to the workshop. Authors should submit a 500-1,000 word abstract outlining the planned poster. Additional supporting materials may be submitted as a single pdf document. Posters will be included in the proceedings published in the ACM Digital Library. Posters should be either Landscape or Portrait mode and at a resolution appropriate to online viewing.
Selection Criteria
-----------------------------------------
The selection of research papers will be based on the full paper and should cover original, unpublished work. All other submissions (posters, technical presentations, and tutorials) will be selected based on the submitted short abstract and do not have to cover unpublished work but should be topical and appropriate for a technical audience.
The IWOCL / SYCLcon program committee will review submissions based on the following criteria.
+ Concept of the submission and its relevance and timeliness
+ Technical depth
+ Clarity of the submission
+ Research findings and results of your work
+ Your credentials and expertise in the subject matter
